Family-Friendly Paddleboarding

Paddleboarding is a great activity for families, and Tenmile Lake is one of the safest places to try it. Many of our guests bring inflatable or hard-shell boards for kids and teens to share.

The shallow areas near our marina and shoreline are perfect for young paddlers to learn the basics, and the quiet setting allows parents to supervise from shore or join them on the water.

Just one paddle session is often enough to turn a first-time visitor into a paddleboarding fan.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to wear a life jacket while paddleboarding?

Yes. Oregon law requires all paddleboarders to carry a Coast Guard–approved life jacket. Children 12 and under must wear one at all times.

  • Can I launch my paddleboard from my campsite?

Some waterfront sites offer close access. If that’s a priority, mention it when booking and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Are rentals available?

No. We do not offer paddleboard rentals at this time. Guests must bring their own boards and gear.

  • Is the lake busy with boats?

Some areas of the lake are shared with motorboats, but many coves near the resort remain quiet, especially in the early morning and late evening.

  • Can I store my board at my site?

Yes. Most guests keep boards at their campsite or lean them against their RV or tent area. We ask that boards be stored safely and not block walkways or common areas.
